Keeping Up Appearances ..

  1. I think it's some sort of ego thing... "If they can do it (BSB lads) so can I". They then find they can't. It's just a theory, could be completely wrong, but we know everyone wants to win track days :joy:

  2. I didn’t say they do, but to book in the advanced group you’d think someone would have an ounce of sense on the first track day of the year. It would be slightly more excusable to me in a lower group as there’s less experience in most cases.

I’ve got a video of the crash that happened in front of me from my GoPro and it’s ridiculous.

  3. Not saying you did. But I hear this stuff a lot. And I know of no one ever that went out to crash. Rush of blood, mis read of conditions, talent vs ability stuff. And some are a cock on and off the track ! Lol

  4. Booked Oulton on the 11th May. It’ll be my first time back since some nugget twatted me off last year and first time out on the new to me track bike.
    What could possibly go wrong

  5. Wow. I think it’s safe to say it’s as bad if not worse than we all joked it would be.

my mates at snet today, three crashes on the first lap of the sighting laps. Red flag fest. Cadwell yesterday was a crash fest.

    mallory apparently wasn’t any better.

    not good

  6. Any on Monday will be interesting with near freezing conditions, potential wet/damp depending on what forecast you use.

  7. So Romano Fenarty can’t grab your front brake lever as he overtakes you :joy: Seriously, not quite sure. In the UK, BSB rules were changed to require one after a mechanic stepped back into a rider filtering up the grid at Brands Hatch resulting in an unexpected stoppy, crushed rider’s nuts and a damaged bike. Not sure what the statistics are that show an issue with front brakes getting applied in close group riding. Andy

  8. Nope, IME, not an ounce. I stopped partaking in UK track days (Ducati days accepted) years ago, simply because there was zero policing of the standard of riders in all groups. When FE returned to the UK market, they at least started using transponders but that still meant potentially a whole morning riding with dickheads in the wrong group. I know some will argue with me but No Limits were the worst. Andy

  9. Ive never had issues in probably 50 Uk days in the last 3 years other than this day in fairness, seems they booked all the idiots on one day.
I’m at Snett tomorrow so hoping for a smoother day.

  10. I've been riding in Spain for the last 7 years. Still won't be riding in the UK though, not tested my Panigale V4 but know 105db static isn't achievable, despite what Akrapovic claim for the v2 db killers. Andy

  11. That’s exactly why I’m staying away from trackdays until May. Apart from anything else it’s bloody brass monkeys which makes overnighting in a motorhome with dodgy heating deeply unpleasant, plus a a cold track, cold tyres and hot headed riders don’t mix well.

  12. Ive been on plenty of days with V4s with akras, Cadwell, Snett, Oulton, Donny 98 day and none of them have had problems.

  13. Meant to be at snetterton on Monday.

Getting a little twitchey at the weather forecast...... thinking road tyres and heated grips

  14. 1 session at Snett without a red flag today, I think 2 had 2 flags in!

  15. What was the issue. Weather seemed pretty good, down the road at least?

  16. Weather was lovely, issue I think was officially decided as ‘dickheads’

  17. I’d imagine that many are reaching in to a bag of talent and coming up empty handed

  18. Weren’t they introduced to racing after this incident?

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  19. A couple of lunatics today giving it beans on the first corner after sighting laps and pilling in.

As I feel the snow wasn’t enough if a clue that aggressive lean angles probably weren’t a good idea.... ‍♂️

  20. I rode like a granny for the first 2 sessions :joy:. Track got much better later morning and afternoon. Still had to be careful though.
