It looks like a Lorch bench lathe from around 1920 and there's probably a bunch of tooling that ought to go with it somewhere in the garage. Not sure if moving it around or having it picked up is legal at the moment but good luck finding it a new home and I hope you have great memories of your dad.
Good point, there's no rush, there's a massive box of chucks and tools to go with it, I will try these guys. Thanks for your help and thoughts.

It's still there, yours if you can pick it up, transit would do it, all the bits and bobs with it too. we can work out what it's worth on the day, money to my mum
