hi all, i have an st2, been stood for 10 years, replaced and serviced the usual parts, belts, oil, all filters and lines, coolant, took off a dodgy datatool alarm, tidy up of the electrics ect, got the bike running, (what a noise!!!) now the questions as your sitting on the bike right hand exhaust smokes and is noticably hotter than the left ? what temp should the cooling fan turn on ? smells rich when running erratic tickover tach is reading 5000 rpm but bike is bearly ticking over any help with the above would be great, im hopeing to get an mot end of next week if i can get answers to the above
Cooling fan predominantly come on 97-100 go of 102 ish. Most likely 3 of those thing are one issue. Erratic tick and running rich, Hot and smoking. Probably the hotter cyclinder is firing correctly guessing here! The colder one is missing ,fuelling or ignition problem causing erratic tick over and rich smell.If it was running alright before I usually go back over the work I have done but if there is a ten year gap that’s a bit tricky!
