Guys - do any of you have to hand a correct main bearing for the later 860cc engines (e.g. Darmah)? I'm looking for the bearing code - not the part number - etched on the face of the bearing. I fear that the wrong ones were supplied (7307 BECBM). The 7307 BECBM bearings don't seem right, compared with the old bearings. I cannot see a code on the old main bearings, which may mean that they are the original, Ducati-specific bearings. Can anyone shed light on this, please?
P.S. The old bearings had THRUST etched on one face, indicating the side where preload is to be applied.
I saw a YouTube thingy about an Australian company that were making 'new' bevel engines from original Ducati plans. Worth a search and possible help from them?
I found with the 996 type engines you could get the same bearing size and type from a bearing supplier but the angle of the thrust ramp is different on a ducati supplied bearing. My bevel is coming apart now so will be interested with what you find
Bullseye, NZDave. Thanks. The code of the bearing Vee Two supply is 7307X2ETN. I certainly trust those guys. There's your answer, Ducv2.
