Myrouteapp Offer Lifetime Gold For €149.50 Rather Than €299

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Bumpkin, Apr 12, 2021.

  1. Received an email from the authors MRA this morning, special offer of Gold Lifetime for €149.40 rather than €299. You will need to register an account to benefit but I think it should work. Who wants to try it?

    https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/gift?discount=MRA-PNUQX-CAVRZ#285521

These offers, in my experience, only go out to registered users of the service and quite possibly only subscribers. Can anyone that uses the free service confirm if they got this offer too?

  2. Pretty sure I was offered discounted Gold Lifetime at Easter and I’m only using the free app. Andy

  3. What happens when they go bust?

  4. I've just started having a play with this app and not had chance to try it out on the bike yet. Is it worth it? I use basecamp atm

  5. I got the 99euro offer a while back , maybe that’s why I haven’t had this offer?

  6. Yep, I'm a free account user and got the offer.

  7. Thanks for confirming all who recieved the same.

Yep, I jumped at the chance for the same price. It's been worked on and improved since to add the functionality from Basecamp that it was lacking.

Only thing missing is the ability to export a multi day/route trip as one file and that's not really a problem.

I think that's quite unlikely TBH. They have quite a following, especially from Garmin users, have a good product and mainly operate on the subscription model.

  8. I brought a lifetime subscription a few months ago - worth every penny love creating routes really easy
To use did give basecamp a go but just couldn't get my head around it
I'm using it at the moment to visit as many biker cafes as I can

  9. I had a subscription about six months ago but found their communications woeful - it took weeks to resolve an issue which resulted in me cancelling my subscription.
I subscribed more out of interest than necessity as I've never had a problem using Basecamp; I didn't find myroute any better for route planning while using a pc/laptop.

  10. Basecamp is good once you understand it IMO, just takes a while to learn but there are loads of videos on YouTube to help you

  11. Having used Mapsource and the Basecamp over many years I agree about the steep learning curve and then it becoming far easier. Frankly I would consider being something of a 'black-belt' with Basecamp and produced a few YouTube videos on it of my own. I was at the time a Basecamp evangelist and tried to help as many as possible get to grips with it.

However, IMHO, Basecamp has had it's day and MRA is the new king of the hill. I didn't bother to install Basecamp on my latest PC build as it now ticks all my boxes and offers so many useful tools and map layers that Basecamp lacks. Far more intuitive for new users too. But that's just my opinion, as they say "your mileage may vary".
