Both me and a mate have suffered brain injury in accidents when wearing Arai. I have to get a new helmet when I start riding and I was having doubts about getting another Arai - I've been wearing Arai for about 20 years with a (very) brief change to Shoei. This video restores my faith a little.
I am not certain, I would need to check to be sure but I suspect that we will be reverting to a BS standard in the UK now? Pretty much every lid will have to meet ECE22.06 but there will be an additional BS standard test for here as well On a side note - who wants a primer grey Arai (or indeed any helmet) ?

I never worry about colour as when it is on, you can't see any colour. But I just go for white as it is usually the cheapest and no one can argue about your visibility - although it didn't do me any good....well it might, as nobody can argue about my visability...
I thought my AGV Pista RR complied with EC2206 as well, so I did some googling and ended up on this (US) page which contains the following warning. "WARNING TO OUR CALIFORNIAN CONSUMERS: This product can expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects and reproductive harm." Thank God I don't live in California so I'm safe from all those nasty sounding side effects. According to that video, only that Arai complies with 2206 at the moment. You may well still get cancer if you spend your time licking the helmet, though.
Helmet manufacturers are not too concerned with 22.06 yet. There are literally millions of 22.05 helmets to sell through first. It would make zero sense with all those currently in warehouses and dealers shops, to have a host of 22.06 sneaking in just yet
There are some bargains out there at the mo' Perry, but not because of ECE22.06 More because helmets etc have not sold well over the last year or so.
There is something else blowing in the wind that supersedes that, but I need to be back in my office to check it out really. There were or are definitely plans for a new BS standard.
