I have some rear side panels I can sell, as regards respray, I used a local body shop and it cost me about £300 from memory. I wouldn't use a bike specific place if its just for a flat colour as they are more expensive. I put the decals on myself before they did a clearcoat
I found, by chance, a hidden gem. In Byfleet near Weybridge - Wheels Approved Autoworks (http://wheelsapproved.co.uk/) - they did some major repair work on my 888 seat unit. Absolutely brilliant job. Probably not the cheapest but I will definitely be using them again.
Off the parts went, after a bit of a clean, a couple weeks ago. I hope they reinforce the area (arrowed) where the fairing stay has worn some of the fibreglass away.
I would use a large g-clamp to flatten the metal where the fairing stay sits and tweak it so that it is perpendicular to the frame horizontally and vertically. Then you know it is not moving the fairing mounting point and potentially introducing misalignment /stresses elsewhere in the fairing.
if it's only mildly massaged and plate not cracked then, yes, definitely! as long as you are careful.
hard to apply force considering location - what would be ideal, because you are exactly reversing the damage action - is to attach a slide-hammer or equivalent. A bit of ingenuity adapting something could be just as effective e.g. - a nice long bolt with plenty of thread, some "mass" with a hole in it, i've known people drill clean through the head of a club hammer just for this purpose.
The fairing pieces are back. Painted inside and out, only diff to std that I can see is that the painter lacquered over the stickers. Rear fairing, £100.
