Ebay Scammers

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Fraz, Apr 30, 2021.

  1. I've got tired of ebay taking no action to the constant scam listings. I can spot them a mile off and report them only for them to be left up for weeks until they eventually get pulled. One customer service advisor said - "we do not mind as the item is not covered by the Ebay money back guarantee"
Anyway here is another one, a 916

  2. Well they moved pretty quick on that one. Went to put a bid of £28k on it and just got pulled.

  6. Strangely enough i was discussing this with a friend yesterday how ebay is a real turn off these days with poor sellers and buyers not performing with high standards, lacking in proper description / non-existent information about the products & ebay don't give a toss only interested in the money.

  7. I am probably going to junk ebay in the near future, certainly for selling purposes. The reason is their insane insistence that I should junk paypal and link my bank account and details to their platform. Call me old fashioned, but I will not do internet banking on my current account with anyone, even my bank. Paypal and credit cards gives you that degree of separation from my everday money if there is an issue.
With the degree of fraud on ebay, there is no way I'm linking my current account to them.

There are a few alternative platforms for second hand selling around. All it will take is for one of them to obtain critical mass and ebay will be as relevant as yahoo or netscape.

  8. The thing is at the moment ebay is, I think, the place we all look for as first stop? the trick is to be able to travel to see in the flesh what you're buying.
