So….. I bought a full termignoni system on Tuesday, chuffed to bits with myself for finally getting it but have been worrying about the Trackdays I have coming up at Brands, Snetterton, Oulton and realised im going to struggle to keep the noise down and defeats the object of getting the bike in the first place. so after a discussion with the very supportive Mrs I’ve decided to uninstall it and put the stock system back on. (Well, when it’s been welded as it has 2 cracks in it somehow) so for sale is a full termignoni 4Uscite exhaust, has been fitted and run for about 20 seconds. Never been out on the road. Sounds epic even with the baffles in. comes with all the Carbon bits, belly pan, full exhaust of course, the ‘manual’ which I’d say is a bit rich calling it a manual, nuts / bolts / springs / brackets and new sprint race filter. Price is £2500 which is what I paid on Tuesday. I’m at the Ducati day on Thursday so will happily bring it down there or you can collect from Leeds, West Yorkshire. Any questions please ask. It’s coming off the bike tomorrow (Friday) and will be back in its box by tomorrow evening. I’ll get some better photos
That's a shame fella, but after hearing a few on the boil, I think you are making the sensible choice if you want to ride as many tracks as possible. GLWS.
Cheers Glen, it’s a fantastic bit of kit but after I started looking at selling the quieter days on then looked at getting a cheap track bike I realised it’s defeating the point of having the best bike on the market if I can’t ride it anywhere won’t sound as epic with the stock system but it sure as hell still be a lot of fun
After a couple of years of running my underseat on the pani R all over Sweden without issue, I drove over 8 hrs to race endurance in Norway. They were hammering the noise testing there and weren't gonna let me ride. Was gutted for the rest of my team, but also annoyed as ferk with the whole situation. Luckily the testers weren't jobsworths and we managed to work with them and after a couple of attempts come in under the 102 static with a 101.8 Never want to go through that again. So much easier on the blood pressure if you aren't on the limits. You get to enjoy the days riding far more.
Got 2 track days booked in June. Cadwell on the 8th, but due to a noisy bastard V4S I’ll be taking the KTM SDR to that one. Looking forward to this. Not done Cadwell for years!! Then another on the 29th at Donington (noisy) on the V4S.
Think that the mountain can be attacked with a little less trepidation with the wide bar set up. Enjoy.
exactly the same position I’ve put myself in with the system. It’s the stress of worrying about it when all I want to do is go and have a ride around and enjoy myself. There’s already enough to worry about on track without adding to the stress. It is a shame as it’s a beautiful bit of kit. I’ll just have to book on a noisy day with @Mary Hinge and follow him around to enjoy the epic sound of his unsilenced Termignoni system
My 2020 V4 with full Akrapovic was under the limit of 102 at Silverstone with a set of pipewort baffles added in front of the silencers and the stock right rear baffle and a copy of it into the left rear baffle....no noticable loss of power either and quieter than a lot of other brands out there..
Isn't possible to get some sort of extra baffles fitted somewhere in the system? Might worth to ask Marcus Hill MHP Exhaust, he migth be able to do something to reduce the dB levels.
My pal, Ben had the same problem at Assen in 2006! We found some beer cans the right size in a bin, bought some large jubilee clips from a stall, borrowed a spray can of flouro pink we spotted in someone's toolbox and hey presto! The La Sex Bombe (TM) decibel killers were born and he got to ride...
Ooooh, I’m not so sure The SDR doesn’t need any rear shock compression/rebound assistance to lift.... sniff of throttle in 2nd and weh-heyyyyy
You doing donington on 29th June?? It’s hard booking donington now. All the noisy days are booked solid
I’m not on it no, but I’ll keep my eye on trackday trader for any spaces going. I’m at donny on 19th June as well but some mates want to have a go at endurance racing there in august so I need as much practice as possible
And thanks for the heads up on track day trader. I’m a bit behind the curve with this stuff. Always away working.... Just had a look on it and banged my name down for drop outs. Is it worthwhile buying a novice drop out then having a word and getting moved up??
Good little site is the trackday trader. Should see how many go up for sale when the weather looks a bit rainy always best to set the alert for the group you want. Avoids upsetting the organisers
Yeah I bet everyone tries to bail if the weather looks shit. And equally not a single fuken spot will become vacant if the weather looks mint.... understandably. There’s a spot up for grabs in novice on the 17th I think. I was thinking of buying it. And maybe I could pretend I’m a natural as I weave through the field frightening everyone. With my slick shod V4S. With every bastard accessory on it.
