Coffee/cafe Stops & Routes - Surrey To Ducati Coventry

Discussion in 'Touring' started by Mark Kenyon, May 9, 2021.

  1. I bought a new 2020 Diavel with 3 years servicing from Ducati Coventry, it seemed like a great idea at the time (the price/spec was good too) but now I need my first annual service and its a 200 mile round trip. So a mate is coming on his 1098 for the day (I can just about keep up!) from deepest darkest Surrey and wondered if anyone has any route ideas with a couple of decent stops along the way for Bacon rolls/coffee...both there and back? I really dont want to do motorway all the way, but I also dont really want to get lost in Bucks/Berks/War either....Thanks in anticipation :)

  2. You are welcome at mine.... but I am nowhere near on the way..... but I did buy my ST3 from Coventry, privately. I rode it back and it is about 100 miles I think!

  3. Plot your route here

Plenty of Costa Coffee and such like on U.K. roads these days. You could use the A5 to utilise the Super Sausage which is Towcester way?

  6. For me this just seems bonkers traveling that long distance for a haircut when you can use a local outlet which's serves the purpose & your needs, but each to their own on that front.

  7. From the OP’s post the servicing was thrown in with the deal on the bike. I had the same with a van I purchased from a main dealer had to drive 2 hrs there to get the ‘free service’ 3 times. A royal pain in the ass as it benefits the dealer more than you.

  8. Sorry i missread the article as usual.

  9. Easily done, whilst you’re in the excitement of buying a vehicle and the dealer gives you a ‘freebie’ instead of a cash discount you kinda forget about the logistics of it.

  10. Krazy Horse Chipping Norton will be worth a visit if it is as good as the Bury St Edmunds branch.

  11. reminds me of when I lived in California, (VFR back then)..I'd do a 300 mile round trip to buy a Guatemalan coffee...happy days!

  12. You won’t want to go home and put bike away so detour Wales/Hereford way :D

  13.
  14. There is sensible and sensible....I guess. The way I look at it is I have a chance to book an all day ride with a good excuse that will get through the “committee” easily.....and Pro-twins, who did the 600 miles service (which I paid for) were over £2k more for the same spec bike!
