  2. Great advert and no doubt it will sell for that money.

  3. Cheers all, you never know, I think it really comes down to location, if there’s someone looking for one within say 50 miles of where you are then you stand a chance they’ll travel to see it/pick it up, I don’t put any store in how many watchers there are, when I sold my M1200 there were over 80 watching, nobody bid!, one of them contacted afterwards and gave me the starting bid, which was fine but why do people watch if they don’t intend to buy :), in this one’s favour is its condition but if it doesn’t sell I won’t be overly upset, it’s a great bike and only going cos I’m short on garage space, 1st world problem I know:)

  4. Given the dearth of used bikes in dealerships, I wouldn’t put it past one to buy your bike and just flip it at that asking price. Easy money. Andy

  5. I think some of the watchers are considering selling a "Scrambler" and want to know the value of theirs based on the final sale price of yours. Others are maybe finding out what the "Scrambler" in question sells for so that they pay market rate for one when they purchase in a few months. I've done this plenty of times as it makes buying and selling easier and quicker.

  6. True, that’s the starting bid but if nobody else bid and they got it for 4.7 then they’d probably stick 1500 on top in a showroom, I sold my monster 1200 for 6950, the guy that bought it traded it in on a car 2 months later, I saw it in Stafford Triumph dealership and they’d just sold it for 8500!

  7. EBAY BEWARE!!!!!!

Ive just found out that EBay now charge 12.3% of the final transaction fee, so if my bike sold for 5k they would take £640, the last time I sold a bike they charged 1% capped at £45, I’ve been on the phone to them and I’m assured that they are correct and they will change 12.3% with no cap!, I clarified that I’m a private seller but they were adamant that the 12.3 is correct, so I’ve ended the listing and they have agreed not to charge the insertion fee, has anyone else had this happen or similar?, unbelievable!!!

  8. That is of course their choice, but like you I think its extortionate. I'm glad ! don't have a bike to sell.

  9. Panic over, I went onto the eBay community site and they said ignore eBay chat, most of the reps don’t know what they are talking about, so here is what actually happens, if it’s a vehicle the sale is capped at £45 just as it’s always been, so I’ve relisted, I went back on chat, the rep agreed that the other 3 reps I’d spoken to were talking rubbish, he refunded my insertion fee, apologised and wrote very clearly that I would not receive any extra charges, no doubt all this may have damaged my chances of selling as people will wonder why the item ended and then reappeared, but hey if it doesn’t sell that’s not a tragedy, what a day!

  10. It's great to see that product training is right up there with the company employees, ebay has gone down hill very fast in the past five odd years in my opinion.

  11. Last 30mins folks, c’mon get your wallets out :)

  12. Someone got a deal there.:upyeah:

  13. Yes ended at 5k, I was quite happy with that, the bike cost 7,036 on the road 5 years ago, 12k miles, I actually expected it to make less!.
Now does anyone want to buy a leather Italia Independent Scrambler seat, or a Scorpion Serket exhaust?:)

  14. Dam right, at £8 a week plus road tax, insurance and fuel it was a steal! i wonder what the same bike on a PCP would have cost you...

  15. I’d worked it out at £8 a week Jez, thanks for confirming my Maths :), not complaining but that’s definitely the first and last new bike I’ll ever buy, in fact it’s already been replaced with a 1976 Suzuki GT250, pick it up Saturday (I had one when I was 17 so it’s a nostalgia trip), needs a lot of tidying and a colour change to silver.
With the exception of the Thruxton all my other bikes are classics so will at least hold their value or make a bit, I’m thinking of selling my 900ss though if anyone is looking for one.

  18. GT250A - I think? Nice!

  19. Yes 1976 German import Jez, so I’ve got the joy of dealing with the DVLA, he’s got the German logbook, NOVA etc so it should be relatively straightforward, but experience tells me it won’t be, the bike looks quite original, I’m not sure about the rear mudguard and light though, I think it’s not original, but I saw a vid on YouTube last night that had the same, so that needs a bit of research and replacement if it’s wrong, I’m not going to create a show bike, basically it’ll be a replica of the bike I had 42 years ago:)
Here’s what mine looked like back in the day, (although it’s not my actual bike in the photo). F4BD6179-F552-4C31-B548-4CE000600454.png
