Streetfighter V4 Low Seat

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by iang27, Jun 12, 2021.

  1. Anyone got a Streetfighter V4 Low Seat they want to sell ?

The standard seat is quite high at 845mm so want to try the low seat,
Either that or I dig my platforms out

  2. Get low profile tires! :upyeah::p:upyeah:

As a fellow short person - can I ask about the Diavel - how did you get on with that? why did you decide to get rid?

Thinking of one of these again - after the disappointment with the V4 Multi (for me)

    THANKS

  5. I’m 5’6” and have a 29/30” inside leg and could get both feet on the ground easily.

It’s a very heavy bike at 244kg fuelled up but it relatively easy to move about if you sit on it and “paddle it” around.

The reasons I got rid was threefold:

    1. Because it was a pain to move around the garage particularly with another bike in there (as well as other stuff)
    2. Despite me trying to convince myself otherwise it’s too similar in riding stance/position as the scrambler (although with sports bike performance)
    3. I missed having a sportsbike in the garage.

    :)

  6. Well, I found a dealer with a low seat, got it yesterday, tried it on and it’s no lower than the standard Seat !

The normal seat is very padded so must compress when sat on.
The low seat is like a plank of wood which doesn’t compress at all so it’s no lower.

Needless to say it’s back at the dealers.

Better glue some blocks on my boots instead.

  7. Thanks for posting this. I tried the SF V4, and liked it, but couldn't get excited because it was too high, and I'd drop it at some point. Worst of all, I struggled to get the side stand down, as it required a firmly placed right foot, and then a real awkward stretch.

The pushy salesguy (Ducati Cambridge) told me it wasn't a problem as it was a great bike, I lolled and told him I'd decide whether it was a problem ;)

Just after my test ride, Ducati announced the lower seat, but I wasn't prepared to splurge £20K on the gamble that the lower seat would be a silver bullet to the height issues.

Nevermind, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS is

  8. Glad I found this thread. I was thinking of buying one for my SF V4S, don't think I'll bother now. Stock seat is only hassle if I have to back the bike out of somewhere and its slightly uphill lol! Just have to get off and push it.
