  1. Having stood next to Tiger tank a few years ago, those K1600 are bigger. ;)

  2. Yep, a mate of mine bought a bike with a wired intercom on it some BMW thing. His wife was thrilled it had such a thing, he made sure it never worked again. ;):D

  3. It’s for when I ride in a fast group and you get stuck behind trucks etc when you don’t know if you can overtake etc etc

  4. I take it slow Dave isn’t on this group buy?

  5. I have two ovaltine tins connected with string to communicate with slow Dave

  6. Genuine question. How would that help? I’ve been taught and I have taught my son the same that you always make your own decisions on overtakes and more or less disregard what anyone else says/does.

I ignored that advice once when driving a car and I asked my passenger whether it was safe to do a u-turn. They replied in the affirmative, so I pulled out straight into the path of and tore the bumper off a car approaching from the opposite direction :confounded:

  7. When I was in Wales last week I was the only one in a group of 8 riders without any form of communication whilst riding. If I was at the back of the group and stuck behind a truck after the others had gone I couldn’t see when to make a move, and if I had contact then I would have heard them tell me it was clear to overtake.

Likewise if I was in the middle of the group and those ahead had gone and were saying I could go as the road ahead was clear then I was holding up those behind me, as I didn’t know the road ahead was clear. If that makes sense.

  8. 8 riders there’s me thinking me and me mate are pushing it at 2 riders, that must be like herding kittens.:scream:

  9. Not so when you have communication ;)

  10. The downside to this is all the prattling that goes on in between.

I wouldn’t feel comfortable with directing other riders, mid flow, as to when it is or isn’t safe to make an overtake

I use mine for directions only.

  12. Sunbathing and having a latté in the garden whilst waiting on my delivery from Sportsbikeshop.co.uk

  13. Dragged a new tyre out of the track stash I bought a while ago and didn’t use with every intention of putting it on the newly refurbished R6 front wheel. Mmmm, week 33 of 2016 and unsurprisingly hard and unforgiving. Hey ho, not letting Carole out on track for the first time on the R6 with that tyre fitted. Nice new Rosso Corsa II fitted now. Andy

  14. With 8 riders I would be riding using the drop-off-system with each riding their own ride, maybe it's just me... Though I will admit that bike-to-bike comms have their place; useful on tour for route decisions, petrol/meal/pee stops etc.

  15. Well this afternoon I’ve spent most of the time trying to fit the Cardo Packtalk Slim to my Arai RX7V helmet. And it’s a right fecking lark despite being told twice that it would fit ok. But the battery pack doesn’t fit inside the back of the helmet as they claim. It will fit outside the helmet but it looks shit and I suspect it would have issues when it rained.

Sportsbikeshop are going to have a word with the supplier tomorrow to see if there’s a better fitting method but I suspect there isn’t, in which case I’ll swap it for the Bold model.

  16. Not sure id want a battery pack inside the helmet

  17. Got to love Ducati. What is a simple job of undoing 6 bolts turns into a fairing off, ecu move, hose reroute and sundry covers off.
I’m off for a lie down.

  19. Excessive noise?

  20. I decided to send the Packtalk Slim back to Sportsbikeshop yesterday as I couldn’t get it to fit into the RX7V at all.

Once my CC is credited I will go over to their Leeds store and check out the Packtalk Bold to make sure it’ll fit the helmet.
