Ecu

  1. Hi

I’ve no doubt this has been covered off but I have a 1098 with Termis and a race ECU that has been running like a pig at low revs, smelt very rich and just a nightmare to ride! Got the original ECU today and thought I’d try it….massive difference, starts well, runs much better (not perfect!) pulls very well with the only downside (upsideo_O) is that it bangs like a soho hooker on the overrun…..probably too lean now but thoughts?

  2. The best way to check fuelling is to take the plugs out and inspect the colour.

Ideally by 'chopping' the plugs with an open/part open throttle and turning the ignition off but that's not particularly realistic with a faired bike on the side of the road etc. Instead, once home just kill the ignition straight away, if you fancy giving it a go. Don't let it idle.

What's the situation with the air filter/air box? Standard or modified?

  3. Get it on a dyno for a fuel/air run and read out, then you'll know where you are/coming from.
