V2 Sc Project

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by JamieW, Jul 29, 2021.

  1. They have finally released official products for the V2. Quietest with baffle 106db. Loudest 114db. A lot of weight loss and good power gains on paper. Personally don't like either and would be useless for me, but good to see more and more options hitting the market.

  2. Jeeez….. 106db at best, will wake the dead that… another exhaust aimed I fear at the American market.

I like the curly exhaust they do for the F3 but also, pretty loud!

  3. I think Bretts Mrs has an SC Project can on her 959. Never heard a Ducati that loud before.
Not for me TBH, even for road use. Must be getting old.

  4. At those noise levels its pointless, its obnoxiously loud for no benefit baffles out and with baffles in you still can't even get on a 102db trackday so your options are massively limited if you want to use it properly rather than just announcing your arrival everywhere.

  5. I had an SC Project Conic on my [just sold] Street Triple, and it was very good quality, at the loud end, but not too loud, and as it was bought before they started sponsoring HRC in MotoGP, very reasonably priced.

  6. 106db means unless you're going to Anglesey or possibly a Donny noisy day that's your lot for trackdays in the UK.

Looks nice, but something to be aware of if that's your intention.

  7. I also believe 106db is too loud for most club racing if my memory serves me correctly (NLR is 105 I think) so isn't really useful for those chaps and lasses either

  8. I had an SC Project can on my ZRX, it looked the danglies but was way too loud. I absolutely had to fit a DB killer in it to make it more acceptable.

  9. I can tell you first hand that the SC Project is extremely loud! have one fitted to my 1199 and will be changing for the under seat Termi's this winter when the bike is off the road. The SC Project is just far too loud, even with the baffle fitted.

  10. The stock V2 exhaust is pretty loud too….I think it says 102dB on the V5.
But yes…when I had an F3 I considered the SC Project exhaust…but it was offensively “please confiscate my bike Mr Policeman” loud.

  11. agree ref the V2 being really quite loud as standard, just not necessarily a nice tone. The F3 (euro 4) in comparison at idle is probably half as loud

  12. Different manufacturer, but I managed to get the noise limits from Arrow as this is half the price of Akras etc. This is a no go too if you do any track days/racing. Of course the revs are supposed to be tested very slightly lower, but it's not going to do a lot.

  13. yep, and 3db is quite a lot!

  14. An increase of 3db equates to approximately twice the sound intensity and acoustic power.

  15. It’s a shame SC just go for noise, same for Arrow now, I would wager they focus on the American market where it really does seem like the louder the better.

It doesn’t help that for Ducati’s it means removal of catalytic converters as well which shave a few Db off!

  16. Just looking at this again, it's a shame they are so loud because they look okay and the power and weight figures are really encouraging.

  17. Not hard to get light and powerful when you're basically just a 'straight through' system .... no tech, just no innards ...
