  1. Hi All, I need suggestions about ducati monster 600, 2001 year, advantage, problems, all about this moto that you can say. Thanks a lot.

  2. Great little bike, 2001 will still be a carby model so they're generally reliable, pretty simple to maintain.
Make sure it's serviced regularly and the timing belts are changed when they should be.

  3. I have an '01 600 Monster. I'd say its the best one to try and get as it basically has all the updated parts the newer 620 injection has but still with the older simple carb'd engine. ie larger front forks, different mounted front brakes and different fork lowers, rev counter, different styled rear tailpiece, rear brake mounted ontop as opposed to below where they generally get more road crud on them. I think the rear suspension is slightly different too and different style indicators. Can't fault mine. Belts are a 20 mins DIY job, they even have covers that allow a bolt to lock the cam pulleys when changing belts meaning its almost foolproof. Can get up to 90 decently, above that takes more time and pointless tbh. Handles brilliantly tho bumpy on poor roads. Also 5 gears that are long meaning less gear changing. I've never loved a bike as much as this one. I'd say buy if you have seen one for a good price!
Ps ignore milage, they are simple and reliable with German wiring looms and high milages wouldn't worry me at all. Averages 56-60mpg!
