Manufactured pretty much 04/97. More elephants on it than I expected. Wondering now whether to replace all the bearings. They seem okay. But 'seem' are famous last words. Whats the general likelihood of them failing? Anyone know? Should I?
Sounds like a major rebuild, I’ll purchase it as a project 6 packets of Wotsits and a Crene egg half eaten?
I viewed a blast from the past their small bike collection this morning, The Red 850 Norton's up for sale if anyone's interested.
Looka well kept collection, I haven’t ever seen a Norton I’d like to own everyone I have seen has left me cold.
Ain’t they just, it was the Calor Gas sign Iwas referencing though the incidental bike however had 40k+ on it’s clock but then it was a 02 plate so only 2k ish a year. Think it is a Duckitty or some such.
I'm busy doing the bearings on my bevel now most of which have been in the engine for 40 years and they seem ok. However the mains on these bikes are a bit dodgy if sat around so I would bite the bullet and change the lot.
Its only the adjustable pulleys, one actually sounds a bit dodgy. So replacing both. The non adj pulleys spin freely and smoothly. SKF6003RSHC3 if anyone interested.
Washed the MTS1200 and CBF500. Rode them both, MYS passed 45000 miles today and refuelled both for my extra BP points. Also just fitted new front discs and pads so bedded them in and they seem to be doing stoppies from a high speed??
It was mentioned to me so as i was in the area why not take a look, kicking them over's the problem for me.
Finally back in the UK. See my daughter in 48 hours and no more flying for a while. 6 countries, 12 flights and I’ve lost 2kgs! Win.
