Yet Another 900ss Butchered

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Steve E, Aug 15, 2021.

  1. It's been a while since posting on here, so I thought I'd bore you all with another project.
About 5 months ago a very nice Canadian fella asked if I could do "build" for him, so after getting hold of a fairly rough 900ss ie the bike was taken over to a local engineering company for a shed load of work.

  2. Already looks an improvement over the original imo. Does look like a mismatch between the tank and the sidepanels though.

  3. There's still a fair amount of work to do on the tank, I'm sure that it will be fine when finished.

  7. Hello mate. The owner wants black/gold.

  8. Looks like you've managed to successfully get a continuous foundation line...nice work, as it is quite difficult with the trellis.

    Keep the photos coming!

    Good luck

  11. Smoothed out the tank to side panel line, much better.

  13. Hi Steve,
Is the nose fairing original 900ss?

    Thx
    Grant

  14. Nice work! I so regret not persevering with mine (sent them to "the experts" ruined!)
Q: Have you sold the yellow body work?

  15. The fairing came from Bill Roberts in Wickford Essex.

  16. What happened to yours?
The bodywork sold a few months ago.

  17. Just Googled him and saw where he's based and realised i went to him about 30 years ago, he was making carbon mudguards at the time.
Do you know if he has a website as i cant find one or if he sales on ebay.

  18. He doesn't have a website. If you need to contact him I can give you his phone number.

  19. Ok at the moment thanks Steve, i was after taking a look at what he had for sale as he's only 15 minutes from me but good to know he is still about.

  20. Thanks for that, have PM'd you.
Blimey Bill Roberts, a blast from the past!
