The Cyclists/ebikers

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by DucatiScud, Apr 7, 2020.

  1. Just trying to get my head round this Ricky, the quick release open doesn’t undo the tension on the dropouts as it won’t loosen or it does loosen and the wheel doesn’t drop out as it should with the skewer loosened?

  2. The skewer goes through the wheel and the bushes (on either side) and threads into the frame on the other end.
There are no”drop outs” - there is no slot in the frame where the wheel and spindle could be withdrawn from below, the lug is continuous with a hole in it.
The far end bush is free on the skewer which allows the skewer to be unscrewed from the frame however, since the skewer is stuck in the other bush, as it is unscrewed it just splays the frame apart rather than withdrawing through the bush.
    In summary - fooked.

  8. in short, a nice idea if never allowed to seize but overall it looks like "drop-outs" win then.

  16. I actually like riding mountain bikes in the dark, I've got good lights, I only get a 90 minute burn time on full beam but it's like day time in front, weird feeling though, as it's pitch black off road right behind you
