1299 Paddock Stands

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by KA77, Sep 15, 2021.

  1. What paddock stands are people using for their Panigale's (1299)

I have a Warrior headstock stand that doesn't seem to fit due to the clearance between the mudguard and U/S of the front fairing.

The other stand I have that goes under the front forks seems to twist the forks slightly when the front wheel is removed, making it a pig to get the axle back in. The clearance between the axle and the stand is also very tight!

Any recommendations for a decent stand would be appreciated

    Cheers

  2. I have Pit Bull headstock stand.
Expensive but fantastic quality and looks good.

  3. Is there a UK supplier for these do you know?

  4. I've got one of the DEMON TWEEKS versions, which is basically a Chinese copy of the Bursig stand. Though there are rumors that most of them are are stickered up but Chinese made. I welded mine up to give it some extra strength, and it worked fine for 6 years on my Beemer. I think the Panigale version requires you to remove the lower fairing or grind a small bit out of the fairing to fit it. Search on Youtube.

  5. im using the ducati paddock stand on the rear, harris for the front

  6. Front and rear stands can be obtained directly from F G Gubellini in Italy, who make them for Ducati. It's cheaper to buy direct, but take care to check the import VAT, customs Duty and Carrier charge first if possible.
The Gee Tech stands look good and many people prefer them, but it can be difficult to contact the company to place an order, and there appears to be a waiting list.
As mentioned above, Harris stands are good but not cheap.
It also depends which type of front stand you want, under fork or under head-stock.
There are also the centre stands mentioned above, and options which allow movement of the bike while supported on a stand.
    Good luck.
    Tom.

  7. Dp rear and DP Front you can pick them up second hand all the time on Ebay etc
and Gee-tech headstock lifter and Peg stands.

the Contistand type are great, but no use if you have the adjustable swing arm pivot as the pin will not fit.

for track days the centre stand is a great help, but a real pain to transport as they are not light and a bit cumbersome

  10. I use the constand on the rear bought from Motea. Its a rear paddock stand on dolly wheels, so once jacked up you can move the bike around. Had for 5 years now. (on a 1299) Never ever let me down. Bloody god send to move the bike around on the rear stand. Would definitnely recommend.
For the front i simply use the under the forks type stand.
I read and heard horror stories about the centre lift type stands, so make sure you buy a good brand. Still, having to cut the fairing made me decide against this type.

  11. They do look like decent stands.

  12. What sort of horror stories? I’ve watched the Constand YouTube video where they fit one to a 899 and don’t cut the fairing. But there is another review where they do!!

That said, I’m not to worried about cutting the fairings, as they are fairly scruffy track fairings that are on the bike anyway.

  13. I never had an issue with my Chinese Bursig, on the BMW. I stored the bike on it all the time. Though the driver that delivered my 1299, said he saw someone drop their Ducati from a centre lift stand. On a 1299 there's no way the lifting pin will locate without modifying or removing the lower fairing.
