Petrol Queues.

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by yellowducmaniac, Sep 25, 2021.

  1. Silly question but are there thousands of HGV drivers abroad just sitting around waiting for the uk to grant them visas to work here?

    No? Thought not.

  2. Exactly, there's a shortage there too.

I think I'll go down the pub before they run out of beer

  3. Tell that to the hundreds of people turning up to trackdays and race meetings daily.

I used to take approx 50 litres to a race meet as did most others. And that wasn’t including the fuel for the generator.

I never store it really though. Sometimes maybe 20L but generally I have none left anyway haha

it’s just another rule that’s not enforced I guess

  5. Sources in Downing Street say Doris' new plan is to fly HGV trucks and drivers into the UK to resolve the petrol problem before afternoon tea on Tuesday.

  6. If they are really going to get £70/80k pa, and that sum increasing by the hour as the MSM suggests, then quite possibly.....

  7. Couldn't resist posting this video. Not the UK but I am sure that we have a few idiots capable of this level of imbecility:

Looks like water to me though.

  8. I noticed this happening on Wednesday, the company I work for require us to fill up at BP, every Wednesday I work out of area so cover around 150-200 miles in a day. Went to Wimborne, Weymouth, Dorchester BP’s all empty, ended up filling up at an Esso (an option for us but not preferred as more expensive), other Dorset/Somerset BP’s were out of fuel too.

Reported it to my manager and he relayed it to our fleet manager, he spoke to BP rep and was told of no issues………..24hrs later it was on the news and then the shit hit the fan!

I’ll be alright for work Monday, Tuesday but by Wednesday when I’m out of area again they’ll probably have to cancel my calls if I can’t fill up by then?

And the first to complain………..that’ll be the ones sat at home with their cars on the drive, brimming with fuel and warm beer in their broken fridge, washing up by hand and wearing dirty clothes
