Multistrada connectors - 2 queries

  1. 1. connectors.jpg Whilst furgling about under my Multistrada 1200 seat, I found these 2 connectors - anyone know what they're for? and 2. I thought I'd pick up power for my TomTom from the Ducati Satnav connector on the left of the bike - I understand it's 5 volts DC - but there's no voltage present - does this have to be "enabled" in the ECU like my heated grips had to be?

  2. Whoa!I've just re-read Andy's MTS1200 site info. and it's 12v output, not 5v - fortunately I've not blown up my TomTom! Still no output voltage, tho'

  3. Sorry, don't know what the two connectors are. The satnav power feed is NOT 5v - you'll need some sort of inline converter. As far as I'm aware, it does not need to be enabled, but it is switched, so only comes on with the ignition.

  4. you could try a piggy back terminal off the horn power feed. It rarely gets used and you can make the additional harness without chopping and splicing your main loom, all you would need is a piggy back spade connector. :upyeah:

  5. I did exactly what your suggesting to wire in a TomTom on my Multistrada. Research suggested Garmin's are 12v and TomTom's 5v so I Bought a small 12v to 5v transformer and wired in in-line to the GPS power connector under the left front panel. Works and powers the sat nav no problem, but ampage is too low to recharge the TomTom battery. Not a major issues as it'll run when the bikes running.

  6. Surely those connectors are for diagnostic and computer link, updates etc.

  7. The three way is the ABS diagnostic connector

Are there no white labels on the wires? This normally identifies what they are.
