Bike Parking Etc At Brands

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by bigjimmyb, Oct 13, 2021.

  1. Hi folks - am riding to Brands this Sunday. It's the first time I've ridden - mainly so I can get home at a decent time rather than wait until the traffic is less manic.

Has anyone parked there before? Is it safe? I will be using a disc lock and chains.

I understand there is a place run by the Rotary club for storage of leathers etc - anyone used it?

    Thanks in advance
    BJB

  3. Bsb ?

It varies from year to year. On occasion they’ve stuck a big ass cage and gridding on the airfield for security. Sometimes they don’t..

I would ring the circuit and ask what the situation is mate.

I have heard of bikes being pinched from brands, it’s not uncommon. Not to scare you… because it’s highly unlikely but I am always cautious. If they’re putting you on grass, take something for the stand!

  4. Yep BSB - got a mate who's son is in the Talent Cup (not racing this weekend, that's all done and dusted) so he got some freebies.

Thanks buddy - I think I'll take advice from the circuit. I've heard of bikes being nabbed from the paddock even! A bike cage wold be a bonus.

I'll try to park it as far from any cars/vans as possible too.

Will take a puck for the grass - thanks.

  5. IME if you have a friendly local dealer that can get you in Ducati parking inside do that!

Bikes and stuff do go missing. Brands and Donington seem to be worst places (wonder why ;) ) and it’s normally a field.

Security is a must imho as it’s a puck to put stand on in case they aren’t handing them out. Try and park so yours is the first in a line, defo not the middle of the domino stack!

If you have anything really bling amd easily removed ime consider removing. I’ve had bolts nicked and colour coded mirrors in the past.

  6. Btw if you contact the circuit check if they have inside parking available and if so it’s worth paying for it especially if ticket a freebie. And enjoy the racing :upyeah:

  7. Good call - thanks Bradders. I'll be sure to park at the end and the puck (I have an old MSV one) is in my leathers.
