Cleaning The Badge On The Yokes

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Freak, Oct 22, 2021.

  1. Maybe a daft question, anyone have any suggestions of what I can use to clean the badge riveted on the yokes, looks a bit grubby.

  2. What bike? In my 851 SP3 the badge is (apparently) silver, so I used silver polish. Whatever it's made of, it polished up nicely.

  4. I took the top yoke off my Foggy, knocked the rivets out from underneath, polished the plaque and recited back on with the original rivets
    Looks great now

  5. I wish one of the previous owners of my SPS had not polished the top yoke, the badge and the rear sprocket carrier, I reckon it looks shite.
The original factory finish would have been much better.

  6. I've never had to do it, but I would suggest masking around the plaque with a couple of layers of masking tape or speed, (foil) tape if you have any & a gentle, light rubbing with a toothbrush & depending upon how tarnished it is and/or how shiney you want it, either car shampoo or t-cut or maybe duraglit wad, (?) if that's still available.
