Yep its pissing down and I`m bored soooooooo , just wondering which bolt on goodies will transfer over (in my case) from a DVT PP (or even a 1260 (PP)) to a V4 PP ? I know a few of you guys will be stripping off goodies prior to selling or trading in and a few V4S owners may have already tried some of the parts below. Maybe worth starting a list rather than getting bent over (again !) for something you can either get cheaper that are the same parts or have already got ? I know its very early days but may it save some serious cash on a very expensive bike. Feel free to add anything !!! Ducati additional fog lights ? Ducati centre stand ? Ducati topbox ? (with a monolock GIVI kit I would expect a yes ?) Ducati tank bag ? (with a flange lock fitted I would expect a yes) Ducati heated grips ? DP Carbon tail tidy ? DP full carbon front mudguard ? DP rear LED indicators ? (should be okay) DP Oil plug Touratech front and rear comfort seats ? Carbon swing arm cover chain guard and extended hugger ? (SSSA looks similar) Gilles rear brake and gear change levers ? (probably not?) ASV brake and clutch levers ? Rizoma brake and clutch reservoirs ? Roadlock ? Evotech fork and rear wheel sliders ? (should be okay) Evotech handguard protectors ? Evotech radiator, oil cooler and sump guard ? (expecting a no this one) Alternator inspection cover ? Navihalter GPS bracket ?
Interesting list. The seats are going to be a 'no', they're not the same shape and the subframe is of a completely different design.
Ducati additional fog lights ? Doubtful Ducati centre stand ? No Ducati topbox ? (with a monolock GIVI kit I would expect a yes ?) - Can't see why not. Ducati tank bag ? (with a flange lock fitted I would expect a yes) Can't see why not Ducati heated grips ? Not sure DP Carbon tail tidy ? No DP full carbon front mudguard ? No DP rear LED indicators ? (should be okay) Can't see why not DP Oil plug No idea Touratech front and rear comfort seats ? No Carbon swing arm cover chain guard and extended hugger ? (SSSA looks similar) Almost certainly nort. Shock is different Gilles rear brake and gear change levers ? (probably not?) No ASV brake and clutch levers ? I suspect not. Evotech tell me the levers are not the same. Rizoma brake and clutch reservoirs ? Probably Roadlock ? Probably Evotech fork and rear wheel sliders ? (should be okay) - Yes, front does anyway Evotech handguard protectors ? Doubtful Evotech radiator, oil cooler and sump guard ? (expecting a no this one) - No Alternator inspection cover ? No Navihalter GPS bracket ? No
I was looking on the Evotech website earlier, as I’d want radiator guards, and a tail tidy, but noticed they don’t do a tail tidy for the V4 yet. I also did a Google search to see if anyone does, but it seems they don’t. Which is annoying, as the first thing I’d want to remove is that hideous carbuncle on the back of the bike.
I think the rear radar sensor makes them difficult to design. I have heard that changing the stance of the bike messes with the sensors too.
Was thinking this afternoon... rare, but i happens... If you have a BikeTrac tracker on your current bike remove it and fit to your new one. Given the value of these things one maybe a requirement of your insurer.
