New Exhaust downpipes and cone silencer, specially made for moi...bit too long though, it was modelled on a friends street F1 which he raced...so the guy who welded it all together didnt see the Factory style stubby zorst that I wanted :-(...want to paint it black..but its stainless...mmmm shall I? shant I?
Cor! Haven't you finished that yet?......and wow, look at those brake caliper adaptors.....they are the dogs *******s (biscuits) AL.
HI Viv Al nope isnt finished mate...minus 24 in an unheated garage is not my idea of fun...having the son of satan around to keep amused is hard work... spent three months on crutches..in hospital...feeling very very sorry for myself...bike has been away for two months getting this zorst made..... so no not finished yet...however it will be ...one day Cheers Steve... the exhaust is very nice....special dB killer in it too...but just too long...and the wrong colour :-( Nick stick around mate you always bring a smile to my face with your persistence :-D Eoin...polished stainless...mmmm. not sure!
Paint it George..if you dont like it you can always get it vapour blasted clean again......and polishing it would be a cardinal sin.......
I think I will Nog...however I do believe that Stainless...like aluminium... requires some sort of acid etching type undercoat. If it was a case of whack a couple of tins of halfords matt black on it..that I would do in a jiffy!
Nog..I have no idea what is on the market in CZ mate! you cant get Hammerite in spray form for example! Al that is in the Ducati museum mate...I guess you are allowed as many scratches as you want if its the bike that Luchinelli rode to victory at the BOTT!
Howdo!!! I'm sure you could get your hands on some ex-soviet chemical warfare stores to etch those SAMs you have stuck to ya bike! Good to see you used ya triangle as a SAM hanger as well......nice Pablo
Eh?? what the feck are those photos of at the start of this thread? I certainly didnt post them before the site went down!! anyway had the exhaust shortened and cut the seat unit down again... its now had more Cosmetic surgery than Micheal Jackson had! Its still not perfect but unlike Jacko.. I know when to call it a day! Also altered the lower fairing, 'glued' the bottom bits back together again... the split bottom style was too much of a a pain in the arris to line up properly when bolting it together.... and had to make a faring blister where the LHS engine case poked through!... a hell of a lot of bodyfiller and sanding down required now... will probably farm that out to someone else to do!
Hi again folks hope all is well with all of you, been a fair while since I have been on the site, but to be honest I havent really done much to my bikes at all. Very busy with work till the project ended in July, and very busy with the house renovation so we can move in by the time the next sprog is born.... four weeks or so! and now waiting for my next work project out of the country again! However with this particular bike.... big big changes are due! Having spent shedloads on the forks and associated bits and bobs. And altering bits and bobs so that top yoke looks pukka and the mudguard fits. And spending eons with Arquebus online designing extension bits for the forks to fit the race calipers and race discs.... I am now binning that idea! I have bought the worlds supply of Marzocchi M1R forks! So now that means I need to get a new wheel, new brake discs another set of caliper adaptors for the 80's endurance calipers, rework the mudguard again and get a top yoke machined up! doh! Having spent shedloads on getting a complete wiring loom made up, having worked on the false tank 'skirt' so that my fuses, relays etc etc sit under the false tank... I am binning that idea!.... I have had the vertical cylinder carb inlet stub altered so that the carb will now fit under a proper F1/TT1 full depth tank... so now I have to rework the wiring loom (doing that at the moment actually) so the fuses, relays and the bulk of the wiring is under the seat unit... and I will buy yet another tank! (which will give me three TT style tanks in total...doh!)..however even if I didnt get a new tank, I always been a bit skeptical about having all the main electrical components sat over a hot engine, under a fuel tank!...potential for disaster there! Having had a brace welded to the swingarm (which was already radically altered when I bought it) ... and then rewelded because the original brace fouled the chain... and am not happy with the results... I am binning that idea. I will get another swingarm specially designed for the TT1/F1 bike. Having cut the seat down, and cut the seat down and cut the seat down... I am still not happy with it... I dont know if I can alter it further as it is now mostly added on glass/carbon fibre...and less of the original...so I might have to buy another one to cut that down...just the once though! I am alos not happy with the bottom faring pan...so that will be altered...for the fourth time! Wish I wasnt so bloody picky! the bike could have been finished long before now :frown:... and I am aready designing and purchasing major bits for my next project..doh!
Howdo Slug Balancer! Gotta do the bike so when you look at it your perfectly happy!!! Unlike your grid in the mirror
