  1. Good morning Guys and Gals,

I'm on the verge of buying yet another new battery, for my 600ss, my question is, are gel batterys better, than good ol acid ones. thanks in advance.

  2. What you need is an AGM where the acid is held in a glass matting. Better cranking amps than the older acid battery and a lot less fussy to look after. Andy

  3. When you say "yet another new battery" does this mean that you're changing them regularly. If so then there's a strong possibility that you have an issue with your charging system that's damaging the battery.

On a previous bike I had a long life out of a Motobatt battery, they're the AGM type that Andy mentioned, was still on the bike when I sold it.

  4. Its a few years back now, but I think was the battery minder that killed the last one, I have been working on the bike on and off for a while now, I usually fire it up with jump leads to a car battery ( I know) but plan to actually ride it next year, so as the car Batt won't fit under the tank, thought I should buy the proper thing.

  5. Thanks for the advice, just ordered a motobatt AGM from Tayna £80.92 out the door.
