Hello From Leeds

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Parky, Nov 14, 2021.

  1. Hi, I bought my first Ducati to replace my Triumph Speed Triple R in June, and it's fantastic.

Being short of leg, it's the first bike I've had for years that I can flat foot on both sides, albeit with the lower seat. It's just so light and easy to manoeuvre, and the engine is an absolute peach. I've done 2000 miles already, with a big grin on my face the whole time.

  11. Welcome!

How does it compare to your Speed? Much lighter... I'm sure :) Did you consider a Street Triple?

  13. In performance terms, it feels just as fast as the Speed on the road, and I don't do track days so it's enough for me. The torque is what really counts and the Monster has plenty of it!

The main things for me are the lightness, the seat height and the steering lock, makes it so much easier to get on with on a day to day basis.

I did consider a Street Triple, I used to have a 2010 675, which I kept for six years, but I fancied a change. The Street Triple engine was great but tiring on long distances as it was such a revvy thing, whereas the Monster is a bit more relaxing.
