This Seasons Flu

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by bradders, Nov 11, 2021.

  1. I find it quite fascinating that the 'new termed' vaccine is only such due to the change in January 2021.

And yet people regularly compare this current 'drug product' with original vaccines of old (polio etc)

It really is comparing apples and bananas

  2. I think balance is more achievable than what's being done currently if I'm honest.

Just a pity SM has that much power really

  3. While we have millennials creating demand for these self-centred ‘influencers’ across the globe it won’t change.

  4. The world has conformed for years
    Example homes/nursery/school/college/work
Look at the regimes implemented in these scenarios the minds screwed up before SM
SM and covid have just sealed the deal
Both increased the conformity of life.
The power of the world lies in the richest
Me and you just dance to the tunes they play while paying to be indebted to them.

  5. I don't want to dance :)

    I'm sure there's a song about that ;)

  6. It's a little more Metaphysical, Dr. Zach Bush has some interesting comments on how the SM and covid has ushered in an age of negativity across the globe, emanating from fear and guilt.

  7. Oh come on. Stop doing the typical Boomer/X'er thing of trying to blame everything on the younger generations. You use social media (including this very forum), search engines, email and You Tube so you are just as much to blame for the tyranny of the techies as anyone 40 years (which is how old early Millenials are now) and younger. Probably more so, as many of them would still have been at school and later Gen Z'ers were actually in nursery when FaceBook, Google, You Tube and Twitter swept all before them in the early to mid-2000s. So, while they were still drooling and banging shapes through blocks, billions of people our age were happily swapping our data for dopamine hits via likes and comments online and selling our digital souls to the Satans of Silicon Valley.

  8. Do you support these ‘influencers’ then? Not up in the gens but under 25 is what I’m talking about, who are making stars from some girl adding filters to her picture or bloke showing his abs and talking to the millions of followers. They are the revenue generating tools of today and tomorrow, not ad links.

And while it develops, it won’t go anywhere.

The advancement over the last 15 years has been remarkable: the last 5 astronomical.

  9. Your question is a bit confusing. Your previous post aimed your ire and blame at Millennials but now you seem to be taking pot shots at under 25s who aren't even Millennials but are Gen Z and I don't really know what you mean by asking if I support "these influencers" (whoever "these influencers" are ie: all influencers or just the ones who annoy you by adding filters to their pics? And what is meant by "support"?)

There are influencers who operate in all areas of interest to human beings, including motorsport related channels on social media (FYI - 44 Teeth has 250k followers) which I am sure you visit and engage with. We ALL use google, Twitter, You Tube, Facebook, daily, often for hours, whether as content producers by commenting on forums, FB posts and Twitter feeds or as consumers by searching, shopping and clicking links to pics and stories so....."glass houses and stones". Ironically, both you and I are now contributing to the profits of the companies and people who pull the levers of power as everything we write and perhaps even speak out loud is being logged, analysed and monetised so that we can be targeted with tempting content. Don't blame others for a situation we are all responsible for, especially people our age, as we unthinkingly handed over immense power to a very small cabal a long time ago.

  10. It’s easy to forget that we are the generation that bought into and encouraged the world of SM
My kids were only just born at the time of Facebook etc.
Their generation have made money from the fruits of our labour and watching their parents sit on phones all day
Who wouldn’t take the opportunity of easy money

We blame the youngsters for a lot of things that they inherited

  11. Influencers are just that they have something to sell for vendors and are right there in your face on your phone.

    The world involves to spend.

Everything is influenced depends if you want a piece of it.

Who wants to work for free

  12. Just a thought

I have 6 plus mobile phones in my drawer

my two have just one as they trade in theirs

  13. Yawn. Unleash the permanently angry bloke.

  17. I’m close to buying a trap, the damn Squirrel in my garden is just vermin that requires culling.

My static target shooting isn’t up to much at the moment and I’d hate to just wing it and thereby cause it unnecessary suffering, so erring more toward the trap. :):upyeah:

  18. The green areas around here are full of the little fuckers. Swindon also has some of the largest urban foxes I've ever seen, like bloody timber wolves!
