Headstock Stand Or Central Lift Stand For 1199 Panigale

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by KA77, Nov 24, 2021.

  1. Does anyone have a headstock stand or (preferably) a central lift stand (Constand / Warrior etc) that would fit an 1199 kicking around the garage that they are willing to sell please? The headstock stand I had wouldn't fit, so hoping a proven item may be available to buy, to save me the embarrassment of buying two that wont fit!!

Have been teetering on the brink of buying an Abba Skylift.... Hoping I wont have to resort to that extravagance although they are very highly regarded.

    Cheers

  2. Looking around online. I can’t seem to find a headstock stand that fits straight on to the Panigales. Searching the forum it seems you either use a socket ? Or buy a 28mm? pin.

The need to screw a spacer into the frame that sticks out around 40mm right next to yer left shin has put me off the Constand / Biketek centre lift stands.

From what I can see online, the bike tower is the only centre lift unit that uses lifting lugs that locate in the holes in the frame and doesn’t need separate fixings bolted to the bike. Not cheap at €490 tho!!

  3. Warrior Pani stands on the yank forums don't seem to have the bolt in frame adaptor. The lifting pins are quite long though.

  4. I see that Demon Tweaks sell the Warrior stands but are out of stock. Might give them a buzz Monday and see if they have a .pdf of the fixing bracket

  5. I don't know if DT can supply a Panigale adaptor. I think the yank bits are made by however is selling the stand out there. I know Bursig won't sell their adaptor, unless you prove you bought the stand from them. Which is comical, as allegedly they copied someone else's design. If you can weld, you could use some bar the right dia, to make the lift pins yourself.

  6. I rattled this together a while ago. Think I used a 30mm socket on a universal joint as the lifting pin. Might be cheaper / better for you to get someone to make one?

  7. I could do something similar I guess. How long does the arm need to be @bettes ? Around 400mm ish? There is a front stand for sale down the road for £30, wouldn’t be the end of the world to chop it around a bit.

  8. They advertise a Slider stand for the 1199 with adapter. I guess CV-19 is slowing stock replenishment down?

  9. I’ll get some measurements for you later on this evening. I chopped up an old headstock stand which was no good for the Pani nor the 998 I had before.

  10. I have got my headstock stand to fit ok but be aware most seems to foul the fairing so care needed or ideally remove the head fairing

  11. Ive heard a few people say the same. I started looking at centre stands, as they seem more useful generally, it turns out centre stands have their own issues

  12. If you click on the adapter, does it state that it fits?

  13. Yes, you have to remove lower fairing or cut out I think, like abba stand?

  14. Err, no, doesn’t look like it does… Good spot.

I’ve emailed Ze Germans at bike tower to see how there kit connects to the bike.

  15. You do indeed, unless you have the Constand version with the adapter plate that fixes to the rear shock front mount (then you have the 40mm spigot sticking out by your shins) Happy to trim the fairing tho

  16. Have a search on youtube, there's some vids that will make things clear.

  17. Word of warning with the Abba stand skylift. For the Pani's you need to remove the lower faring for it to fit!!

I have two of these stands and they are amazing but not if you own a Pani!
