  1. My MY2000 OEMs firstly seem a bit wobbly and secondly, after 21 years, appear to cracking the paint surrounding the brackets.

I want to take her on track next year and will have to duct tape them anyway, so may as well remove them now and install a right-side bar-end replacement.

Anyone ever replace their mirrors with blanks and instal a right-side bar end mirror?

If so, any thoughts on where to source product?

    Many thanks as ever, Paul.

  2. Don't think anyone has actually made mirror blanks for the 916 shape bike mate.

Demon tweeks sell a lot of after market mirrors might be worth looking at there stock.

  3. You dont need blanks, there are just 3 holes, use the centre one for a cable tie when on track, job jobbed.

Regards the OEMs being wobbly, then they aren't fitted properly. mine have never wobbled in 50,000 miles ! check the rubber gasket that sits between the mirror and fairing is in situ and you have the right length bolts, they should be the 'easy shear' ones as the are designed to let go before the fairing snaps.

Bar end mirrors on a 996 look shit.
