Hi Multistrada V4 owners, I am selling my full Akrapovic racing system as seen on Ducati's Multistrada configurator. P/N 96481791. I thought I would try on the forum before going to Ebay. Its done 2500 miles in mainly dry weather, sounds awesome, with big weight savings over standard system. It comes with a mapping code for refit and is supplied in its original box. I'm looking for £1300, plus postage of £25.00 via Parcelforce or can be collected or I can meet halfway within reasonable distance. Here's a chance to save a packet on new which vary between £2100 and £2400. Paul4
Do you have any idea how the dash/ecu change is applied please? Will I not have to get my dealer to do that? Interested as this is a good price.
The only way for it to be re mapped is through a Ducati dealer and if you are going to buy one choose wisely !! I tried Blade Abingdon because they put the system on my bike. It took them 6 hours to come back to me with a quote and that was after me phoning them and chasing, they then hit me with £660 .. JOKE !! On Yer bike £435, but by far the best and these guys know what they are doing !! JPH Ducati Coventry £273 ask for John, cant fault these guys my next Ducati is definitely coming from them. JHP supplied me with the mapping code for the refit which is in the box the remap task is now simple as JHP had to go Italy head office to resolve.
Sorry probably didn't make my last post entirely clear. The prices that I quoted were for the removal of existing system and refitting of new along with re mapping.
Paul - I'm interested and would like to have a chat with you about it over the phone if possible. Have PM'd you
You may have concluded a deal by now but may I just clarify, did JHP supply the exhaust at £xxxx and then the fit and remap at £273 or did you source the exhaust outside of a Ducati dealer and then found someone to fit it ? The reason I ask is that when I was enquiring about the full Akra system my dealer informed me they had to get the remap code from Ducati in Italy and that it is specific to the bike’s VIN. Clearly a ploy by Ducati to keep supply and fit within the franchises dealer network. However, over the coming years these systems will appear on the used market but I’m keen to understand whether or not Ducati is keeping tight control of when, where & how they are installed (as far as they can until someone can crack open the dash and it’s code so the engine management system can be retuned as happens on previous generation bikes).
If the first generation Panigale V4 exhaust is a guide as to how the software is managed, the software is portable with the exhaust but only down loadable (if there is such a word) and installed by an authorised dealer or workshop like Nellie. Both OE and race system software are held on the Ducati system, not on anything free standing. That's what you get when manufacturers enter into an exclusive agreement. Andy
Exhaust is now sold. I brought the exhaust through Ducati blade when I had my engine refit because that was where I brought my bike. the P/N for this system comes from Ducati's configurator. I used JHP to remove and refit the standard system because Blade are C..p. Akrapovic and Ducati are well linked as you can tell by the packaging that the kit arrives in. The remap code does indeed have to come from Italy.
