1299 F*cking Bike!

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by bradders, Dec 23, 2021.

  1. My Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX workhorse tour bike, I can do an oil change in about 15 minutes, you don’t have to remove any fairings at all and it’s just a spin on metal filter, such a convenient design and a piece-a-piss to live with

    Expect you'll blame Covid!;)

  11. I only did about 100 miles on mine this year. Bloody shocking.

I’ve got a cunning plan for next year though.

  12. No. Waist line and too tight leathers get the blame ;)

And I’ve been playing golf all year instead, you know I like vfm for what I buy :innocent:

  13. Considering taking mine on a tour but think it may kill me!

  14. Neither of my Ducatis have turned a wheel this year. The new superduke on the other hand :motorcycleduc::motorcycleduc::motorcycleduc:

  16. I tried a couple of headstands before giving up for the reasons you described. I am interested in these spider lifts but two thing need a bit of thought.

    1) do they lift high enough to let the forks drop
    2) you have to cut the left fairing a little bit.

panigales are no 916 to 999 to work on. Everything takes ages. Far too many fixing bolts.

  17. having to take out the internal upper side runners and the key cover is a pain, but you get used to it..
I used to hate getting the fairings off my old 999r as they were carbon and very inflexible in comparison, so its just practice i guess..
I use some petroleum jelly on the hook rubbers ( ohh err misses) as it helps the rubber grommets to stay in place and the plastic fairing hook pass through smoothly..

  18. Round two about to commence. Think headlight will stay hooked aside and then try lift again, forks out is no1 priority as I want to drop off while down south Wed, then I can worry about getting headlight out after. Looks like headlight clip may be easier if done in situ, so two hands can work on the clip rather than one holding the light.

    I’ve locked all hammers away….
