How many hours per day kids should study in school is another interesting question. But just for the moment can we try and focus on this simple point - 190 days (i.e. 38 weeks), or more?
Private vs state. My actual experience. My eldest attends a state secondary school that is top in all metrics in the borough (including private schools), my work colleague pays well over £10k per year each for his two lads, and the private school is no more than a mile from the state school. sometimes people are scared into thinking that private is the only way to "guarantee" to get on, it's not. He even questions the true value of his outlay, but just falls back on the old arguments about the feeling of "insurance" or reassurance he gets to say "I've done the best I can for my my lads." maybe lots of professions/industries are filled with privately educated individuals, but are they the same who are accused of cronyism (politics), fraud (banking and finance) and similar such poor moral examples of the human species?
