Ducati Multistrada 2010 1200 S

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Mica, Jan 9, 2022.

  1. Hi there

my name is Mica and I’m from Kent, England.

having problems with my bike at the moment… electrical problems obviously

I had to change the battery and now my bike has reset all of my DTC and ABS settings etc, I’ve found the pages in the manual on how to set it all up again but since it’s wiped all my settings I have realised that the button I need to press to reset them and get into the menu (down arrow button on left side handlebar) doesn’t do anything and I need to press and hold it to get into the settings.. I’m now at a loss as I’m super frustrated!

any help would be greatly welcomed!

  2. Welcome. Why don’t you post your question in the technical section too and someone who knows what they are talking about will be along soon :)

  3. In my experience, 2012 1st generation Multistrada 1200, the switch gear needs regular maintenance. Without dismantling the switch gear, I use a contact spray whilst agitating the sliders followed by a spray of water dispersant, like WD40. If all else fails, I have on the odd occasion dismantled the switch gear in situ and used a tooth brush to give the contacts a clean followed by a ‘scrape’ with a small bladed screwdriver and a small application of dielectric grease. I would advise extreme caution if you choose to go down the disassembly route as there are small springs that just ping out into the deepest and darkest recesses of the garage. I spread out a towel and cup my hand around the switch just in case. Slow and steady is the key. Andy

  10. Hold the indicator cancel button in whilst pushing the lower slider (that you just fixed) down and then turn the bike on. You’ll get a choice of what to change. Andy

  11. Isn’t it the Flash button and the Reset button to access the Units Option?
