  1. I'm looking for a Ducati Supersport S, mileage around 5K tops. Needs to be red in mint condition. Ideally 2018 or 2019 registered. Looking to pay around £8K on a private sale max.

    What do you have?

  2. A ‘17 plate, pearl white with red wheels, Akrapovic wheelbarrow exhaust, 1500 miles, MOT October 2022, full service history, just booked in for a belt service end of the month. Touring screen, pillion cover, heated grips, radiator protectors + all the OE bits. Lost the V5c in the shit at home, just applied for a new one. Oh, 2 owners. Andy

  4. For any of the purists looking at the crash bungs, no fairings were harmed in the fitting, they are mounted off a triangular spreader plate that clamps to the frame :D Andy

  5. Thank you Andy for your kind offer, lovely bike you have. Sorry really want another red one.

Anyone have a red one they're thinking of selling?

  6. Wear these bad boys and buy the above.;)

  7. @Sicilian Given you want a mint bike (as would I) I would be going for the white Supersport, as that has a paint lacquer to create the matte effect (as did my 959 Corse, which was  and I had no issues with the matte paint whatsoever).

The red Supersports / 959 etc don't have any paint lacquer, and the paint is very vulnerable to scratches and wear. Any red one that's in mint won't stay that way for long, without some sort of protection.

  8. I'll be honest, I've been looking at the Panigale's lastnight on Autotrader, not sure how my back is going to feel about riding one though lol!, but it's never going to be huge long distance rides. I've got my Diavel 1260S for comfort.

Anyway I've found a 899 Panigale, mint condition on a 15 plate with full history, 2 owners and very low mileage. More or less original and unbutchered. Called Bennets this morning expecting them to kill off the idea with a high quote as I've only have my full bike licence for approx 13 months.

I couldn't believe it they quoted half the cost of a Supersport S, for higher value more powerful bike, baffling.

    Viewing it tomorrow.

  9. I find the Panigales easy on my back as you are bent over the tank and not putting any strain on your spine as you would on the Diavel or any "sit up and beg" bike. However it can play havoc with your pelvis the older you get so it's worth doing leg exercises to minimise this :)

  10. I'm 51 approx 5' 9" and try keep myself reasonably fit. I'm on the Cross trainer most mornings through winter and Cycle most mornings Spring, Summer Autumn. Hoping I get used to it.

My only experiance with a race type bike has been with a BMW R nine T Racer and it wasn't a good one. Many bikers I've to about the R nine T Racer has its got a crap riding position.

  11. The BMW R nine T Racer has a terrible riding position. My neighbour across the road, Dan, has one. He loves looking at it, and has said he'd never sell it but hardly ever rides it......he rides his KTM 1290 SD instead.

The Ducati Paul Smart is the same ergonomically.

  12. I was in the same situation, loved looking at it, it was mint bike. Just hard work to ride. Only had it a month. Ended up trading it back into the dealer I bought it from for the first Supersport S (wish I'd kept) I had.

  13. Hi
Is it for sale in Essex i ask as i bumped into an old neighbour last week and mention he was selling his 2015 899,

Edit, just reread your post cant be the same as my neighbour is the owner from new,

I thought slow Dave lived over the road ?

  14. He does. Slow Dave and Dan live next door to each other :)

ps. Slow Dave came home yesterday after 6 weeks in Florida visiting his daughter

  15. Now known as lucky Dave

  16. Nah its in Peterborough, asking price is proberbly a tad high, but its pretty much un-molested as new. From what I can see only non standard bits fitted are Ducati performance carbon tail tidy and rear sets. New set of tyres too.

Doesn't have Termi's, but then again the stock cans on the 899 are pretty loud anyways.

  17. A mate i go riding with, has an 899 standard pipes has rode one with Termi's and mentioned that there wasn't much difference in sound.
I don't know the prices but seems to be around 10k? on ebay give and take milage etc, hope it works out for you tomorrow :upyeah:
