999 Tank Range

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by TheJackal, Jan 23, 2022.

  1. Because for the first time in 24 years of biking, ran out of fuel half a mile from the petrol station and had to push her the rest of the way! :astonished:

Is 80 miles from full to reserve light about right?

Conked out with 96 miles on the trip meter.

  2. I used to be able to get about 120 to reserve on a ride on my stock 999. Though that fell off a cliff when I fitted Termi can /perf airfilter and ECU. down to about 90miles to reserve, it also smelt of fuel so swapped back to stock airfilter and ECU. You could see daylight through the duc perf airfilters so didnt think they be stopping much crap getting into the engine. So if yours is stock it sounds a little off but it also depends on how much ragging your doing to empty the tank

  3. Guess it depends how you ride - possibly also whether you've got 125 or 140bhp? But between 80 and 100 seems about right, to reserve. I haven't run out yet and have been encouraged by how much reserve seems to hold.

  4. Termi can and performance air filters but stock ECU.

Guess my numbers seem about right for a 999S with these add-ons. No idea how 44teeth did Budget Bike Battle Italia with a 999....must have been filling up every hour!!!

  5. Ran out on my 999 at about 130, mine seems to have a small reserve (CF my 996) and would only do 20-30 max on reserve, so 100 or less on a tank before reserve., Depends how you ride of course

  6. 120 miles with Termis and DP ECU.

  7. Yep, same here, squeezed to 130 once as I said
