Ducati Wolverhampton used to offer a bike restoration service, does anyone else do it does anyone know? 996 SPS
Hello. I recently spoke to John Cellier (formerly Ducati John), about recommissioning a 916 SPS that had not run for over 20 years, and he was prepared to take the project on with the proviso that original parts might be hard to obtain, but alternatives should be available. He was positive and helpful. The project hasn't progressed, so I haven't taken the offer up, so far. He's near Leeds, so may not be particularly convenient for you? I don't have a link to his website, but his facebook page is: https://www.facebook.com/CellierBVT/ , and this includes contact details. Hope it helps, Tom.
Think it was about £1500 mate , though i rebuilt the engine ect as well. also louigi moto in bristol restore bikes to a very high standard
Ducati Wolverhampton (as was) were saying £10k, and that was a good few years ago, did the £1500 include parts, I guess not, assume that was just labour?
think that was mostly labour mate. i think the whole lot with motor rebuild, paint, bushes, bearings the whole lot was £6000 ish
Ah thanks, I'll drop them a line, it's a toss up to either sell it as a project for someone, or do it up and put in a glass case. has been my, and my wife's, track bike for far too many years and is in a bit of a state, shameful really . Might take it for a final track fling at Laguna seca, I've got 2 bike spaces booked
If you are selling it as a project to someone. Please let me know, that would be a perfect project for me..
Ok, will bear that in mind, pm me your details so I can make a note, pm me what your budget for purchase is,to see if we're on the same page, I have a figure in mind, I've had it 20 years, one owner before me, bought it through Ducati Wolverhampton, before they were Ducati Wolverhampton if that makes sense
