Diag Software Laptops

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by bradders, Feb 1, 2022.

  1. As I have an older bike, wondering what is min spec I could use for a laptop for the software (if I can work out how to use it this time!)?

    I have a MacBook, which I can’t seem to find software for, and wife has a W10 device. I was thinking I may buy a cheap chrome book…would this work?

    @chrisw maybe?

    thanks

  2. Air 2015 iirc

  3. I run my diagnostic and writing software on an old Netbook running Windows XP. It has no internet connection. This works faultlessly. I also have a Windows 10 tablet as well as a desktop PC that runs all the software. For Android I have a cheap Bluetooth tablet (sub £30 off ebay) which is loaded with Scan5mx and TuneECU. I put this together as a loaner for those having problems. Also works perfectly.
    I do not know if Chrome OS would be compatible.

  4. No to mac Brad. I use an old crappy work laptop that is about >10yrs old, it was going to be binned. Macs, youd need to run an emulator and add windows. Its a pain. Any old crappy laptop is fine. I use one for both jpdiag and rapidbike etc for 916, 1299 etc

    Unless the Diag people have released a mac version of course.
