1199 Rear Wheel And Tyre

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by Richard Innes, Feb 11, 2022.

  1. Hi,
Iv just bought a complete 1199 swing arm for my 899 and am now looking for a rear wheel and tyre if anyone has one sat about .
    Thanks Rich

  2. A 1200S monster wheel will fit. Still miles lighter then the std 899 wheel and cheaper then Pani wheels.

  3. @bettes thanks for the heads up on the info, I actually really like the look of the wheel design too. Iv just found one on ebay for £250 reckon that's a decent price?
Can you actually use the standard 899 wheel with the single sided swingarm?
    Thanks Rich

  4. No mate, no way of fitting a std 899/959 wheel to fit the single sided arm…
I managed to pick up a mint 1200S rear wheel up for £160 but that was cheap. Keep looking, one will pop up. :upyeah:

  7. Yeah, should be fine though I’ve no idea about the wheel weight.

  8. I'm not massively worried about the weight as its a closer wheel design to my original 899 front wheel, but love the monster wheel u sent the picture of! I just don't want to buy one that dosent fit.

  9. Thanks Andy, do you reckon it's heavier than my standard 899 rear wheel? I'm not massively worried about weight, but at the same time I don't want a concrete block on the back of my bike!!

  10. I bought a Hyper 950SP front wheel and a 1299S rear wheel, both forged, both the same spoke pattern. By comparison, concrete is an apt analogy for the Multistrada cast wheel. Having now put those wheels on my track project, the handling of my road Multistrada with the OE cast wheels, is not as sharp, still fun but not as sharp. Andy

  11. Mine has. They’re from an 1198 and I got them coated.

Monster wheels will most likely go on a Pani swinging arm but the Marchesini forged wheels are much lighter. Hang out I’d say.
