Remap Or No Remap?

  1. Have ordered a pair of Termignoni end cans for my 899 and took a punt at the upmap for this as well is a remap worth it?. Having rode GSXR’s for years and had them remapped with a power commander fitted and seeing great changes. I’m wondering whether to do the same for the 899? If so where and what sort of cost am i looking at?

  2. I’ve just had my 959 remapped after fitting Termis. Night and day difference. I paid £475 for mine but they did a lot of extra work on top or the remap.
A normal remap is about £400 ish but a cheaper alternative is to send your ecu into a decent tuning shop like P3 Tuning in Liverpool which would cost about £200 ish.
Either option will be better than the Upmap and you can tell them to switch all the Euro bollox off.

  3. It will help, certainly in ride ability.

the stock mapping isn’t the most amazing ever and the upmap is very generic so not ideal.

Best results would be from a full system, your cats will be the most restrictive element.

You do have to be a bit careful though if your cats are in place as panigales have been known to melt the catalysts.

  4. Fitted some D155 termis to my 959 +T800 up map. To be honest I found it very difficult to ride unless you were on throttle/off. It just did not like anything in between. Put the std map back in. Would run a constant throttle OK but lacked power then I had a remap. As previously said night and day improvement so so smooth tractability /rideability different bike

  5. Thanks for those that have responded. Had a reply from Moto Rapido saying the upmap will be perfect for the bike so no remap required. Next question from me. Where would anyone recommend in the midlands that can do the remap. Think I’ll send the upmap back when it arrives.
    Look forward to any help.

  6. Termi's remove the cats mate, agree though, have heard of some issues with standard exhausts melting. I believe the only 'aftermarket' type option that had cats was the akrapovic titanium 'road legal' pipes that were fitted to the mk1 superleggera as standard.
