Me again I fitted the Akrapovic slip on today and had trouble lining up the supplied bracket, which attaches to the frame, so left it out. It's very light and have seen others omit is, so that's how I ended up. Now I have a very ugly hole (marked 1), so can plug it and wondered if anyone has any tips? Alternatively, could remove pillion pegs (marked 2), but again, asking for any tips on filling the holes left. All advice welcome...
Think you're only options might be to either: 1. Loosen the slip on at the exhaust pipe and try and fit the supplied hanger. 2. Buy a black anodised aluminium carrier bolt from the likes of Ducabike, CNC Racing or the like for the larger hole... probably look a bit crap though. 3. Neater fix would be to simply remove pillion pegs and hangers and put a couple of short round headed hex bolts in the smaller holes on either side.
Decided to remove the pillion brackets and ordered some M8 20mm round head bolts and 20mm black washers. Never carry a pillion and if I need to use the panniers, it's only a 5 minute job to pop the brackets back on. Thanks for the help.
