M796 Throttle Play

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by ImAGoose, May 21, 2022.

  1. Is there any way to get rid of this throttle play in my M796, or is it just the the plastic slider tube has this much play in the cable connector?

  2. You need a throttle spacer. Two small pieces of plastic that fit over some parts inside the throttle and removes all of the slack. Available for many Ducatis, not sure about yours. Search on here and see what you find.

  3. Is the M796 Ride By Wire? If so the spacers will do the trick. Being a cheapskate I used heat shrink. If it isn't a RBW bike then it's just a case of adjusting the cable(s) to take up the slack.

  4. I believe mine has a mechanical cable that goes down to the throttle bodies, I need to have a look at my valve spacing so I’ll have a look into tightening up the slack on the cable if I can.

  5. You can adjust a bit at the throttle/twist grip end. Undo the knurled nut and wind the cable barrel out a bit.

  6. That looks a lot ? My 796 had virtually no slack .
