Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Nathanhu, May 26, 2022.

  1. So was looking for another project ...
and a RHD m3 popped up on the radar in the local area to me...
needs some TLC and some deferred Maintenance to make it shine again..
anyone else had some experience with the E9x M3 ?

  3. that must be a UK think over in Germany it seems to be the Mercedes drivers ... :)

  4. I bought a brand new one in 2012, and it was a great car. No issues with it whatsoever, but you hear horror stories on forums about any car or bike. As long as it’s got a decent service history, you should be fine. The noise from the V8 on full chat is epic.

  5. mine has a limited service history, and bought it with this reflected in the price paid..

Planning on doing the con rod bearings, and DSG gearbox service before using it, and just running though a shopping list for spares at the moment... its not cheap as I will put about 3k euros into it, but this one is a 2021 LCI and has competition pack, DSG gearbox and EDC suspension, so thought it might be worth the effort..
Im getting less time for bikes at the moment due to work, so need something that is a bit less time consuming and be able to jump in a go ( to a greater and lesser degree) looking forward to getting stuck in to it.

  11. Had a few 3 series and almost went for a M4 recently but Mrs Carrol thought better of this and decided on a 330e M!

Not the V8 5 litre super charged F type Jag I originally was hoping for but sill a lovely fast we’ll made car, and like a blast from the past it’s got a sun roof!

  14. Spent many years driving these at the BH race school.

Not what I’d call a track car as stock, heavy, brakes gone after a few laps and not very quick over a lap. The predecessor Renault Meganes were quicker round the Indy.

They are pretty capable though with a little bit of work and good fun.

they also were pretty reliable although absolutely eat consumables like tyres and brakes etc.

  15. Pilot cup sport 2 work well. We use Winmax we1 compound brakes on the ones we have that live on Spa and the Ring. No issues whatsoever. or there is always Endless brakes.
