950 2019 950s De Cat Pipe And Remapping

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Steve Paxman, Jun 4, 2022.

  1. Hi, I would like to get rid of the cat and have been looking at the Leo Vince de cat pipe. I would retain the standard silencer as I like the look. I would assume I would need to re map the ECU to adjust for the free flow. But if I look at the Delkavic site they claim I can fit their de cat pipe and exhaust without modification !
I cannot see that one is different from the other, can anyone advise pls ?
Up map do not list my bike so I will have to go to a tuning shop i suppose. Cheers

  2. Not the 950 but my 1st gen 1200 Multistrada. Had the LV decat pipework and an Arrow system. IMO, forget decatting and keeping the OE can, it has no sound mitigation at all so is way too loud. I can highly recommend the Arrow system and the end can comes with baffles. I ran the decat pipework letting the OE O2 sensors cope with fuelling. Not sure the latest gen ECU has been cracked so you are looking at an aftermarket plug in, something like a Bazazz. Andy

  3. Cheers, The Leo Vince ha a baffle built into the pipework, so does not seem too loud. Appreciate the advice regarding the plug in.

  4. If my LV pipework is the same, it’s not a physical insert, it’s just an expansion chamber and believe me, with the OE end can, it’s noisy. Andy

  5. I dropped the same bollock , loved the noise but it was just too loud.
Get on my nerves after a short while.
Ended up baffling so much that it was probably down on power from stock
