Asking for an elderly gent that has a blue ST2 and is thinking of doing some work on it!! Q. Will an ali swing arm off an ST3s be compatible with an ST4s and so the ST2? If this doesn't make sense then let me know. He's nearly 70 and gets confused. Cheers.
Yes. The ST3s and ST4s use the same alloy swinging arm. it should also fit the ST2 and ST4 which have a steel swinging arm.
I believe @witchellski used the alloy swing arm off an ST4 (orST4S) on his ST2 to 851 project (just search for ST2 ugly duckling)
I also fittedd the st4 swingarm on my st2, make sure you use the st4 wheel spindle and chain adjusters, from memory the alloy arm sections are slightly wider than the steel, and dont forget the chain adjuster thingys
