Hi, Tyre is 4 months old and has developed a ridge along one side after 2k miles, I need to get it changed but it was fitted 120 miles from home... Im thinking of going direct to Bridgestone, not sure if I was mugged off when I bought the tyres, was as a pair and the manufacture date is week 15, year 18 so it was 4 years old when fitted?? Was fitted by a proper tyre centre not bought out of a van in a lay-by.. Any thoughts.. Thanks..
Cut the ridges off with nice sharp knife. If you seriously worried get it removed. https://motofomo.com/tire-date-codes-dot/
4 years old is within safe tolerance. That tyre however is furked. It would appear to have lamination issues.
Hello. If you decide to take the matter up with Bridgestone directly, they may be contacted via their website at: https://www.bridgestone.co.uk/contact-us . If you follow the choices provided for motorcycle tyres, you should see a contact us form to be completed and submitted. However an alternative, and possibly more direct route, should be available by using the less publicised email address below: [email protected] . You will of course need to provide details, with images, of the transaction and the issue, including the details referred to in the above post. Good luck. Tom.
Had this happen to me on a Front Supercorsa a long time ago, tyre was originally a Scrub, but was a few years old and it basically 'Blebbed in the middle and felt like you where riding over a cobbled street. I pulled over and got recovered, and I recommend you get that off quick and bin it. Looks like the wire reinforcements given out.
