  2. A mobile chicane :joy: or a race:)

  3. Installed my newly acquired top fairing onto my red 749R.
My original one was not in perfect condition (couple of gouges/damage around mirror support holes) so got one from @Nostromo . That one had a motographics number board on it with gold piping around the edge which was not to my taste. Took the plunge to remove it knowing that sometimes these are applied to hide something nasty… 10 mins with the hair dryer and it’s off to reveal a perfectly fine undamaged surface.
One thing though…I fakking hate the way the mirrors and indicator wires are installed, such a faff!
Don’t tell @Sev though as he doesn’t like any negativity being directed at 749/999!

  4. That there wiring for the indicators are the most ill conceived idea ever on any bike I’ve ever owned, Italian design at it’s worst.

Oh and where the fuel pump relay is mounted.

Other than that it’s a fine looking much under appreciated bike and very much a stepping stone to later models.

But yeah you need to be a flipping Octopus to fit those mirrors.

  10. It’s been a while since I’ve worked on an Italian bike tbh like about 25years due to the long gap in the need to.

  11. My advice would be pay someone else and relax in the chair drinking tea.

  17. ordered yet another set of special screw/772-1-085-1B from Moto Rapido as surprised to find 3 vibrated loose and departed on 1098 for the second time. Will reluctantly use locking compound this time. They fell out from the rear fairing undertray (both sides) and a rear belly fairing fixing. Really good to catch up with Craig there, and spares service is still second to none for this customer.
