I had heard rumours it may happen but there are fuel protests on the M4 and M5 this morning re the price of fuel.
I gave the Tax man £56 today, when I filled up my Disco (£120 of which 47% is tax) That's £12 more than I would have had to gift him in say January. By my reckoning, if I fill 1x a week, that's 52 x £12 or £625 EXTRA tax/year. So, in car fuel extra taxes alone, I've just funded my own winter fuel/COL 'helping hand', without the exchequer having to dip into the 'normal' tax take.....or any 'Winfall tax' on the energy giants.
And all the while we are supposed to be grateful for the 5p Sunak gave us... I'll bet he would have given it in red hot penny coins if he could...
I don't think he keeps HIS money in this Country. Like most of this lot they are only patriotic when it wins them a few votes.
No they won’t if they cause delays in getting to and from work or making people late for getting home for their kids. The Government will do fuck all about it just like when there were the same protests under the Blair Government. Protest around parliament square or somewhere it will give MPs grief, not the general public.
If you think fuel prices are high now, just wait and see what they do, the closer we get to 2030. We’re being played like puppets, and the folk at the top are laughing their heads off.
