999 New 999r Coming

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Nico241, Jul 5, 2022.

  1. Hi all, I have a 999r coming at the weekend, it’s done under 1000 miles, one owner from new. I’m looking for some info on the model, it belongs to a pal that has had it forever and he has finally agreed to sell it to me! Can anyone tell me how many were made etc?

  2. They are not very good and not worth a lot. Ill let you sell it to me for 15 large ones

  3. :D I know very little about them, I have a few jap bikes and always wanted the 999r I know he hasn’t ridden in years, it is absolutely immaculate, not a fila or xerox, it’s plain red. I’ll post some pics up when I get it. Out of curiosity, what should I be paying for it?

  4. so when you say he has agreed to sell it you mean youve not agreed a price? they can be around 15-25k

  5. sorry, yes we have agreed a price that is a little under the range you have mentioned so looks like a good deal. There is an MV Augusta coming with it also, can’t wait! It has sat for 3 years so will need some love but hopefully nothing major

  6. holy smokes. both bikes for under 15k?

  7. Feck me i need some friends like yours.:upyeah:

  8. Haha I wish, the 999 is 14 and the MV is 10, he is really reluctant to let them go but asked if I would take them this weekend so grabbing them before he changes his mind again

  10. If he's watching this forum, the £14k is far too low for that spec bike in m y opinion.:p

  11. I’ll fire loads of questions and pics up when I get them as I’ll need some direction on how to get them back in the road, can’t wait o_O

  12. Thanks mate, will do

  14. It always nice being ahead of the curve when purchasing anything in life, if the market dips you'll not get your bollocks completely crushed.

  15. What year is the 999R? I had a 2006 and it was a sublime bike.
Is your mate in a retirement home or something? Lost his marbles?

  16. haha not at all he is a good pal and I guess he has based the cost on what he thinks is fair, he knows I can’t really afford them and he wants them to go to a good home, they will take pride of place in my garage, I’ll get them on the road and actually use them. Still trying to persuade my wife to let me keep the 999 in my living room :joy:

  17. I always lose money on things in the past but I reckon if I hold onto the Ducati for 10 years it will be a nice investment

  18. I really hope so, plus a little more on top would be nice, but who knows what the future will hold for the markets and us for that matter.
